Faubel finding consistency

Hector Faubel fought his way to fifth place in the searing heat of Qatar, battling with the likes of Thomas Lüthi, Manuel Poggiali and Mattia Pasini within the chasing pack formed behind the runaway KTMs.

Over the past few races, the young Spaniard seems to have found the consistency needed to move up into the Championship top 10, having scored 40 points over the Japanese, Malaysian and Qatari GPs. Faubel is now determined to maintain his good form between now and the end of the season.

"It was a tough race, I didn't have a great grid position and moving up on that track (Losail) is pretty difficult," commented Faubel. "We had many problems with the suspension throughout the weekend, but the team did a great job. We got a good result and I hope to stay at this level for the next races."

"I got a good start, but the KTM riders managed to break away very quickly and I was a bit behind the second group. I reduced the gap gradually and I was able to move up to fifth. Those three flyaway races were positive and I'm already thinking about Australia."
