The winners of the two previous rounds of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship shared the honours at Oulton Park on Sunday, winning a race apiece. Gregorio Lavilla took victory in race one and Ryuichi Kiyonari in race two, with Leon Haslam finishing in second place in both contests.

Haslam led both races at various points, although in the opening race he fell victim of a hard overtaking manoeuvre from Lavilla on the penultimate lap for which the Spaniard apologised. Reigning champion Kiyonari rounded off the podium.

Lavilla started poorly in race two, allowing Kiyonari to run away with his third victory of the 2007 season with a two second advantage over Haslam – who was experiencing grip problems on the left hand side of his tyres. Shane Byrne completed the top three.

Lavilla leads the championship by 29 points from Kiyonari, heading into the next round at Snetterton on May 20th.
