The CEO of MotoGP rights holders Dorna, Mr Carmelo Ezpeleta, has given last weekend's first night-time Grand Prix at Losail International a positive review and is pleased that the World Championship has taken such an innovative step.

"When we started this project we were worried about the result and we took all the decisions we could to make sure everything was completely safe," explained Mr Ezpeleta.

"The Qatar federation and Musco started the project and made their presentation in San Marino in September of 2007. We agreed the project was ok and we did a test a week after the end of the championship in November. The result of the test was very good and they worked very hard to do everything between November and March."

Commenting on the cooler track temperatures which accompanied the evening racing, Mr Ezpeleta added: "We were a little bit worried about the temperature because it was very hot in the first years we came here and now it's a little bit cold. But the Qatar people told us it would get warmer every day and today (Sunday) the temperature was ok and everything worked very well. We think it's a very good step for MotoGP."
