Canepa reviews first day of Indy testing

After topping the timesheet on the first day of the historic MotoGP Indianapolis test on Tuesday Ducati´s Niccolo Canepa analysed his day´s work at the famous American venue.

Having set the fastest time on the first ever day of testing at the new Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) MotoGP track on Tuesday, with a best effort of 1´44.176 on the 81st of 83 laps undertaken, Italian test rider Niccolo Canepa provided his perspective on the proceedings.

Collecting vital data for Bridgestone and Ducati as they prepare for the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix in September, Canepa lapped 0.051s ahead of second fastest participant Ben Spies, at the new circuit.

`We did a lot of laps this morning, but in the evening the grip was better, and we found a good set-up and good tyres to do a good lap time,´ explained Canepa. `I´m also happy because I was faster today than Ben Spies, the American. Tomorrow we have a lot of work to do, although I think that the lap times will be better.´

`I don´t know what I did better than the other guys, but I have learned the secret better! I´m younger, so I think I´m ready to be more crazy than the others.´
