Kallio tops second 250cc Free Practice session

Mika Kallio was the quickest rider in the final Free Practice session in Malaysia.

A time of 2´17.644 was enough to give Mika Kallio the top spot in the third Free Practice session for the Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, the Red Bull KTM rider showing his skills at negotiating a wet track after some morning rainfall. Kallio, who is penciled in to start from the front row for Sunday´s race, was over 3.6 seconds ahead of nearest rival Karel Abraham in the quarter-litre session.

Kallio performed just six laps of the Sepang circuit, with other riders choosing to do similar short practices as a deluge of water fell on the asphalt. Abraham undertook the most turns of the track with thirteen to his name.

Hector Faubel, Ratthapark Wilairot, Marco Simoncelli and Aleix Espargaro completed the top six in the curtailed session.

Hiroshi Aoyama is on provisional pole for the race, having led the way in the opening qualifying session on Friday.
