The 2007 World Champion left it late to top the timesheet in the Saturday morning 125cc free practice run at the Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
A 2´14.930 turn of the Sepang circuit by Gabor Talmacsi (Bancaja Aspar) on Saturday morning saw him top the 125cc FP2 timesheet with the thirteenth of his fourteen practice laps - in the grey, muggy conditions.
Last year´s championship winner Talmacsi was 0.293s faster than second placed Nico Terol (Jack & Jones WRB) - whilst the pace setting pair were joined in the top five by Bradley Smith (Polaris World), Simone Corsi (Jack & Jones WRB) and Danny Webb (Degraaf Grand Prix).
Sandro Cortese (Emmi - Caffe Latte), 2008 title-winner Mike di Meglio (Ajo Motorsport), Stefan Bradl (Grizzly Gas Kiefer Racing), Dominique Aegerter (Ajo Motorsport) and Andrea Iannone (I.C. Team) were also in the top ten.
After being involved in an accident with Marc Marquez yesterday, ending the young Spaniard´s season, Cyril Carrillo´s 2008 campaign looks to be over now too, the Frenchman out of this weekend´s race with a fractured wrist sustained in an FP2 crash this morning. There were additional spills for Di Meglio and Sergio Gadea crash without consequence.
