Rain leaves Pedrosa without true engine impression

Repsol Honda rider unable to fully analyse feeling with new motor after rainy session in Sachsenring.

Dani Pedrosa’s plans for Sachsenring were, for the second year in a row, affected to some degree by rainfall. Fortunately for the Spaniard there has not thus far been a big crash like that which befell him last season at the German track, but the Friday dampness meant that his planned workload was not fully undertaken.

“I haven´t been able to try much out, specifically because of the mixed track conditions. For this reason I can’t easily get an idea of my feeling with the new engine,” said the Repsol Honda rider, referring to the new engine that both he and teammate Andrea Dovizioso are debuting this weekend.

“We are going to try and prepare for the race in the best way possible, but tomorrow will probably be a hard day,” he continued. “It is possible that it will rain, and it’s difficult to know how things will go. What will be important is preparing the setup and having a good qualifying session.”

Pedrosa was the winner of the most recent MotoGP round at Laguna Seca, and is still recovering from a spate of injuries that have hit him since his Sachsenring fall one year ago.
