Barberá favours momentum over caution in 250cc warmup

Barberá favours momentum over caution in 250cc warmup

Spaniard braves bad conditions to maintain form in morning run.

250cc poleman Héctór Barberá decided against playing things safe in the warmup session for the British Grand Prix, going all-out to keep up momentum with the quickest time of the morning outing.

The PepeWorld rider decided to maintain confidence in the wet run, clocking a 1’44.402 lap to fire back at Álvaro Bautista –a rider putting in his own fast time at the end of the warmup.

Mapfre Aspar man Bautista starts from off the front row today for the first time this season, and has been badly hit by a pair of crashes in practice for the race. He is riding with a tender right elbow.

Alex Baldolini and Raffaele de Rosa surprised with the only other times within a second of Barberá's marker, whilst Karel Abraham, Marco Simoncelli, Mattia Pasini and Hiroshi Aoyama all featured in the trailing pack.
