Lorenzo full of confidence ahead of Misano visit

Indianapolis race-winner Jorge Lorenzo is in a highly positive mood ahead of round 13.

After scoring a confidence-boosting win in the U.S. to put his Donington and Brno mishaps firmly in the past, Jorge Lorenzo’s title dream is back on – and he aims to keep up the fight at Misano this weekend.

Arriving at his title rival and Fiat Yamaha colleague Valentino Rossi’s home event, Lorenzo invades ‘enemy territory’ this weekend having just halved the championship deficit to 25 points.

The young Spaniard was victorious at Misano in the 250cc class in 2007 and was second in his first MotoGP appearance at the track last year, behind race-winner and home favourite Rossi.

“It is one of the tracks where I was very fast in the past, so I’m really looking forward to going there in such good shape,” said the 22 year-old. “I won there in 2007 and last year I was not far behind Valentino. I am very happy that I have cut the championship lead by 25 points in just one race, but I know that winning the title will still be very difficult.”

“My first aim is to keep enjoying riding my bike and try to do the best I can. I hope I can be as good as last year or even better, even though I know how hard it will be at Valentino’s home circuit. I hope everyone there gets to see a battle.”
