Aoyama aiming for immediate strength in Italy

Hoping to find a good set-up on his RC212V from the very first practice, the Interwetten Honda MotoGP rider is keen to continue his progress at the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM this weekend.

Hiroshi Aoyama will be looking to continue the improvements he made at Le Mans when he takes to the track at Mugello this weekend, for the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM. The Interwetten Honda MotoGP rider finished 11th in the last race having battled for a place inside the top ten, and he is confident that a positive start in practice on Friday will set him off on the right path.

“Mugello is one of the difficult tracks and you have to have a lot of experience to be able to handle it. Even for me Mugello is not really easy and I have been around for a few years,” said the Japanese rider, who will ride the Italian circuit on a premier class 800cc machine for the first time.

“I want to be stronger straight away in the practice sessions this time, and I want to keep improving like I did in Le Mans – I am sure that we have the potential to be better. I want to give my all this weekend and we will see where we can be.”

Team Manager Daniel Epp added: “If we can get the settings of the bike right straight away, I am sure the potential to be further in front in the race is there.”
