Yamaha stars visit Jay Leno

MotoGP stars Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies and Colin Edwards along with former World Champions Eddie Lawson, Kenny Roberts and Wayne Rainey were all guests at the American television presenter’s garage.

Fiat Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo and Monster Yamaha Tech 3 duo Ben Spies and Colin Edwards were treated to a special showing ahead of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix this weekend when the trio visited American television presenter Jay Leno’s private garage to see his extensive car and motorcycle collection.

Lorenzo was a guest in the audience for the filming of Leno’s ‘The Tonight Show’, and then joined his fellow MotoGP riders as well as legends Eddie Lawson, Kenny Roberts and Wayne Rainey as guests of Leno, who presented his private collection of more than 200 cars and motorcycles to the stars.

Americans Spies and Edwards were joined by members of their families, and the rookie outlined his wishes for a second podium of the season in front of his home crowd at Laguna Seca, whilst Edwards is hopeful of receiving some requested updates to his YZR-M1 machine for what is also his home event. Championship leader Lorenzo is aiming for a good result having crashed at the circuit in his debut premier class outing there in 2008 and placing third last year.

Leno was presented with a Yamaha superbike and a Troy Lee designed helmet, which incorporated the designs of Lorenzo, Spies and Edwards, along with that of Lawson, Rainey and Roberts. Alpinestars leathers were also given to the presenter, whose collection greatly impressed the riders.

Everyone present then enjoyed a dinner presented by Yamaha in the setting of Leno’s garage.
