Oliveira, Morales, Del Amor and Menchén lead the way in CEV Buckler at Valencia

A sensational day of racing took place at the Valencia circuit on Sunday as the penultimate round of the 2010 CEV Buckler thrilled 15,000 spectators.

In the 125GP and Moto2 categories the title clincher will now go to next weekend's final round at Jerez, whilst the Kawasaki Ninja Cup 2010 was decided in favour of Ángel Molero on the final lap.

Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira took a comfortable victory in the 125GP race, cutting Maverick Viñales' lead at the top of the standings to seven points in the process as his rival finished second. Viñales made a good start from the second row of the grid and slotted into first position, trying to open a gap over Oliveira who had displayed a good pace in practice. The Portuguese, riding the Aprilia RSA he will campaign in next year's World Championship, closed the distance and then opened his own gap of five seconds which was converted into a third win of the season. Alex Rins was third, and he retains a mathematical chance for the title going into the Jerez round.

Taking a step closer to the Moto2 title with a brilliant victory was Carmelo Morales, in a race which was possibly the most exciting of the season so far and which involved a group consisting of Morales, an inspired Axel Pons and Román Ramos with a following pack of Forés, Torres, Coghlan and Rivas. Pons set the pace until the final lap on which Morales made the most daring of moves, one which was rewarded with victory and opened up a 21-point lead over Coghlan – fifth in the race – at the top of the standings.

A poor start for Forés in the Stock Extreme race saw him drop to 11th on the opening lap, leaving Javier del Amor and Santiago Barragán to be the main contestants for victory. The duo had a great battle which ended with the Ducati man victorious, as he secured his first win of the season. Forés managed to recover and finish in third. With second place Barragán took the privateer title.

The final round in the Kawasaki Ninja Cup saw the title decided in favour of Ángel Molero. Adrián Menchén, who started the race with title chances and from pole, went on to win with Molero in second, a result that delivered him the 2010 crown. Molero overcame a four-second deficit at one stage to Enrique Hernández, who was riding in second, to move in front on the final lap and take second place, a result that secured him the title in the category in which he was runner-up last year.

The seventh and final round of the 2010 CEV Buckler will be held next weekend at the Jerez Circuit.
