Monza Rally Show 2010 calls round

The yearly event which regularly sees MotoGP stars taking part kicks off on Thursday with the shakedown sessions and scrutineering at the National Autodrome Monza.

The annual Monza Rally Show gets underway on Thursday with the opening shakedown sessions and scrutineering taking place, and as usual there will a selection of riders from the world of MotoGP present to represent the world of two-wheeled motorsport.

Amongst those in attendance alongside MotoGP star Marco Simoncelli will be Marco Melandri (with Alberto Vergani at the controls of a Lotus Exige GT), Andrea Iannone (with James Barini in a Peugeot 207) and Moto2 World Champion Toni Elías (with Roberto Mometti in an Abarth Grande Punto). The Rossi name will also be represented with Graziano, father of Valentino – who is absent from this year’s event following shoulder surgery – forming a team with Massimo Pavan in a Chevrolet Corvette.

One of the main players at the 2010 Monza Rally Show will be Dindo Capello, five-time winner of the event. Providing stiff competition as a main rival to the Italian this year will be Spaniard Dani Sordo, team-mate of World Rally Champion Sebastian Loeb, and who will drive the C4 WRC he campaigned during the 2010 season.

The Show includes a series of special events from Friday through to Sunday, with the ‘Master Show’ the centre piece on Sunday afternoon at 2pm local time.
