Riding a 2010 spec Suter chassis, Marc Marquez finally got his first laps on a Moto2 bike after the Monlau Competicion team decided not to risk the conditions yesterday. The recently crowned 125cc World Champion pitted out for the first time around 12:30 local time in front of a crowd of photographers. Marquez did 46 laps in total, recording a best time of 1’45.9.

Scott Redding’s crash just after 15:00 saw the track closed for nearly 15 minutes. The Marc VDS rider hit the grass exiting the final turn and highsided. He was taken to hospital for a precautionary check up and did not return to the track. He recorded a best time of 1’44.65 in 36 laps on the Moto2 bike and hopes to be fit enough to ride a few laps on the Suter MVDS MotoGP bike tomorrow. In MotoGP, the Ducati test team continued their work focusing on the front end of the Desmosedici 2011, with Vitto Guareschi joining Franco Battaini on track, while Karel Abraham went to ground after losing the front of his Desmosedici, damaging the bike and losing much of the afternoon’s session.
