CEV Buckler returns to action at MotorLand Aragón

CEV Buckler returns to action at MotorLand Aragón

Three weeks after its spectacular opening round of the 2011 season at Jerez the second instalment of the CEV Buckler will take place at the MotorLand Aragón circuit, where 128 riders from 15 different countries will ride in the 125GP, Moto2, Stock Extreme and Kawasaki Ninja Cup categories.

In the 125GP class all signs point towards Alex Rins emulating the World Championship form of Nico Terol. Third in last year’s Aragón race Rins will know his team-mate Álex Márquez along with Jorge Navarro and Italian Romano Fenati will provide stiff competition.

The battle between Jordi Torres and Carmelo Morales in Moto2 looks set to play out its second episode at MotorLand, after the electrifying scrap which lit up the opening round. This is a category which has always produced surprises however, and riders such as Iván Moreno (who accompanied the Laglisse riders onto the podium at Jerez) and Román Ramos, who last year finished fourth at Aragón, will also be in the hunt for a good result. The international flavour will again be strong with Czech rider Lukas Pesek – who was unable to ride at Jerez due to a foot injury – Japanese Tomoyoshi Koyama and American Jake Gagne, who made an impressive adaptation to the category in the opening round.

Stock Extreme is witnessing an exciting new duel between Kawasaki and BMW. Santiago Barragán won last time out at Jerez ahead of Xavier del Amor and Dani Rivas – third on his debut in the category, as the German manufacturer saw four of its bikes inside the top six whilst Barragán of the Extremadura Junior Team delivered Kawasaki the first win of the campaign.

The 25 riders in the Kawasaki Ninja Cup will contest the second round of the competition at MotorLand, with Antonio Alarte defending the lead he established over Adrià Araujo and Alan Vilches at the previous round.
