Riders head back to school at Assen

Loris Capirossi and Jasper Iwema were amongst a group who visited the Dutch 125 rider’s former school close to the Assen circuit on Wednesday, where they took part in a question and answer session with pupils.

The Dr Nassau College, just ten minutes from the Assen circuit, was the venue for the Iveco TT Assen pre-event on Wednesday, as Loris Capirossi and Jasper Iwema were accompanied by the five Dutch wild card riders who will compete in the seventh round this weekend.

MotoGP star Capirossi (Pramac Racing) and 125 talent Iwema (Ongetta-Abbink Metaal) were joined by Bryan Schouten, Ernst Dubbink, Jerry van de Bunt and Thomas van Leeuwen – who will all ride alongside Iwema in the 125 category this weekend – as well as Dutch Moto2 wild card Michael van der Mark.

The group were greeted by a hall filled with pupils at the school, and proceeded to field questions with the aim of the visit to increase interest in motorcycling amongst Dutch youngsters. Following the session the riders posed for photos with pupils and signed autographs, rounding off a successful afternoon enjoyed by all involved.
