Zarco states intentions ahead of 125cc race

The single cylinder class warm up pace was set by the French rider ahead of the Iveco TT Assen Grand Prix race, with Cortese and Folger in tow.

Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo) set a fast lap of 1’44.686, an advantage of 0.123s ahead of Sandro Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany), who had a small crash after he posted a time of 1’44.809 to place him second in the timings.

Jonas Folger (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) confirmed his recovery from a qualifying practice crash by setting the third fastest time, ahead of Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) and Efrén Vázquez (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo) .

Sergio Gadea (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team) posted sixth quickest time, in front of team mate and pole man Maverick Viñales. The two were followed by Héctor Faubel (Bankia Aspar), Alberto Moncayo (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica) and Luis Salom (RW Racing GP).

The race will be without the current points leader of the category, Nico Terol (Bankia Aspar), who injured his hand during qualifying. The Valencian returned to Spain yesterday and will be operated on Saturday morning at the Clínica Dexeus de Barcelona.
