Terol tops Mugello warm up

125cc Championship leader Nicolas Terol (Bankia Aspar) led the sunny 20 minute Sunday morning session ahead of the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM race at Mugello.

Four Spaniard’s topped the single cylinder class warm up session, with Terol’s quickest lap of 1’59.346 putting him on top of the pile, followed by Efrén Vázquez (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo), the two will start from fifth and fourth on the grid respectively.

Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team duo Maverick Viñales, who lead most of the twenty minute 125cc warm up, and team mate Sergio Gadea were fourth and fifth fastest in the session. Assen winner Viñales will start from the third row, while Gadea will launch from the third spot on the front row.

Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo), who will start from his first ever pole position in the World Championship posted the fifth fastest time. The Frenchman completed the group of riders who ran under a time of 1’50 in the warm up. German youngster Jonas Folger (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) was sixth in the timings, with Héctor Faubel (Bankia Aspar), Luis Salom (RW Racing GP), wildcard Miroslav Popov (Ellegi Racing) and Sandro Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany) completing the top ten times.

The only crash of the session was that of Danny Webb (Mahindra Racing), who was taken to medical clinic to determine his fitness for the race.
