Márquez team presentation takes place in Barcelona

The CatalunyaCaixa Repsol Team Moto2 rider was present at the official unveiling of his 2012 livery, just nine days before the season-opening Grand Prix gets underway in Qatar.

2011 Moto2 World Championship runner-up Marc Márquez and his CatalunyaCaixa Repsol Team officially presented their 2012 project in Barcelona on Tuesday, as the 19-year-old prepares for his second season in the intermediate category.

After a disrupted pre-season in which Márquez continued to recover from a vision problem caused by a crash in practice at the Malaysian Grand Prix last October, the Spaniard was in top form at the final Official Test which took place at Jerez last week.

With sponsors Repsol and CatalunyaCaixa on board for another season it promises to be an exciting one for Márquez, as he aims to go one better in 2012.

“I missed a large part of the pre-season and obviously I am lacking a few more kilometres on the bike for the opening race. However, getting to the last Test of the pre-season at Jerez with my eyesight 100% recovered was very important,” said Márquez at the presentation.

“We did a good job at the Test, I regained confidence on the bike and it was good practice for the entire team. Now we just have to see what happens in Qatar. We aren't completely prepared because some of our rivals are still a step ahead, but that just means that at the first few races we will have to focus on our own job and have patience. Then we'll see if we can show the kind of form that we had in the latter stages of last season. “

Márquez added: “One of our goals for this year is to fight for the Moto2 title and we will give everything that we have to achieve this, although I prefer to go race-by-race and not think too much about the Championship.”
