Successful Silverstone for Red Bull KTM Ajo

Red Bull KTM Ajo Factory Racing Team´s rider trio made its way into the top ten at last weekend’s Hertz British Grand Prix, making the Silverstone race a success all round.

Fastest rider was German Sandro Cortese, who finished third, recording not only his fifth podium of the season, but also staying within two points of the championship lead. His teammates, Briton Danny Kent and Australian Arthur Sissis, were sixth and eighth respectively. Cortese had a tough fight for second place with RW Racing GP’s Luis Salom, who passed him in the last corners and finished only 90 thousandth of seconds in front.

Both Sissis and Kent made their way up through the field and Kent took his best position of the season so far. He was 8,637 seconds from the winner, whilst Sissis was only on tenth behind the Brit. The team will be buoyed by all three performances, especially as Kent is starting to show some of the form he displayed in pre-season.

Sandro Cortese

"I had small problems in the beginning of the race but when I found the right rhythm I rode the end of the race in maximum power. Third place is ok and these were again important points counting to the overall situation. That difference of two points [to title rival Maverick Viñales, Blusens Avintia] basically doesn't mean a thing at this point and I am not worried about that at all. I am very confident because I am having the best season of my career."

Danny Kent

"Absolutely my best weekend of the season. It's so great that it happened in front of my home crowd."
