Avintia Blusens in the points as Hernandez falls

It was a mixed weekend for the Avintia Blusens team at the Iveco TT Assen, as Iván Silva collected some valuable points, while Yonny Hernandez crashed out of a fierce battle.

Hernandez had a lightning start and was involved in a rapid and tough battle from the start with the CRT leading ART machines. The high pace did however lead to the Columbian crashing out after six laps, which put paid to what could have been a good race.

Silva on the other hand had a less than ideal start, giving himself a lot of work trying to catch up the leading CTR group. By mid-race, Silva’s pace had improved and he was running the same times as Pasini, Petrucci and Pirro. He finished the race in 12th place, taking home some much needed points for the team.

Iván Silva

"I quickly lost contact with the front group. I had to overtake Ellison and Petrucci and I wasted lots of time. When I did, the group with Pasini, Yonny and Pirro already had over five seconds on me, which was impossible to recover. We have taken a small step forward but we must improve more. The circuits that are now coming I do not know, making progression a bit more difficult, but every day I’m getting more confident in my ability and in the team."

Yonny Hernandez

"It was a shame. I feel very bad for the team but I could not avoid the fall. I looked strong, was riding with the best and did not hesitate to try to get into the top CRTs. When I went for it, I pushed to hard and I lost the front wheel. Hopefully the next race is better."
