Lüthi fastest in Italian GP morning warm-up

Lüthi fastest in Italian GP morning warm-up

It was Interwetten-Paddock’s Tom Lüthi who went fastest in the morning warm-up of the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM at Mugello ahead of Andrea Iannone and Pol Espargaró.

Lüthi set the quickest time of 1.52’685 with Speed Master’s local favourite Andrea Iannone less than a tenth behind. Tomorrow’s pole-sitter, Pons 40 HP Tuenti’s Pol Espargaró looked to have no ill-effects from his big crash yesterday as he set the third fastest time of the morning.

Italtrans Racing Team’s Claudio Corti ended the morning session in fourth, putting on a good show for his home support, while Mapfre Aspar Team’s Nico Terol made a welcome appearance high up the timesheets in fifth. Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol’s Marc Márquez came in sixth, and did well to save a near crash early on.

There were numerous crashes in the warm-up, with Federal Oil Gresini Moto2’s Gino Rea, Desguaces La Torre SAG’s Massimo Roccoli, Arguiñano Racing Team’s Ricky Cardús and Espargaró’s teammate Axel Pons all coming off their bikes. None of the riders were seriously hurt.
