Krummenacher to partner Aegerter in Technomag-CIP team in 2013

Krummenacher to partner Aegerter in Technomag-CIP team in 2013

The Technomag-CIP team has announced the signing of Randy Krummenacher for the 2013 campaign to run alongside current rider Dominique Aegerter.

The Swiss rider, who has stated that the move is the "best thing that can happen to me", will make the switch from the current Kalex machine he uses with GP Team Switzerland to the Suter machine of Technomag-CIP in an all-Swiss pairing with Aegerter. Krummenacher has had a difficult 2012 campaign, with eighth being his best placement so far, after what had been a promising start in 2011. To make things worse this year, the Swiss rider is currently side-lined with an injury and will miss the Aragón race, and will be replaced by compatriot Jesko Raffin. The Technomag-CIP press statement has said that 2013 will be the time for him to ‘restart his career’.

Krummenacher’s switch comes after Marco A. Rodrigo, team principal of the Grand Prix Team Switzerland, decided after the Brno round to stop racing with his own team. He will however keep a personal sponsor involvement to support young talents like Raffin, as well as Moto3™ rider Luis Salom.

Despite the upcoming switch, Krummenacher aims to see out the season strong, and aims to be back with the GP Team Switzerland as the Moto2™ field heads to Japan. On his recuperation, the Swiss rider said today: “Yesterday I went for a check up with my doctor, and he wasn’t that happy yet with the healing of my broken bone. But I keep looking forward and hope I will be fine in Japan, where I’ll give everything. I will have another check next week.”
