The Italtrans Racing Team has announced today that it has signed Spanish rider Julián Simón for the 2013 Moto2™ season to run alongside current rider Takaaki Nakagami.
The Italian outfit, which only recently split with Claudio Corti, made its announcement shortly before the triple-header, where it will be running other Spanish rider Toni Elías as Corti’s substitute until the end of the season. Yet it will be Simón who will make the switch from his current Blusens Avintia team to Italtrans next year to ride on his third different chassis in three seasons. He will be using the Kalex chassis in 2013, after having contested with both Suter and FTR machines since 2010 with first the Aspar Team and then the Blusens outfit.
