Kent leads morning warm-up in Motegi

At the AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan in Motegi it was Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Danny Kent who lead the way in morning warm-up ahead of Jonas Folger and Sandro Cortese.

Even in warm-up the Moto3 grid did not hold back as a pack of front runners formed in the final stages, with the lead changing frequently in the dying seconds. And it was today’s pole sitter Kent who came out on top with a time of 1.59’060 set in the sunny conditions seen all weekend so far. He beat Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3’s Jonas Folger, who narrowly held off the charge from championship leader Sandro Cortese.

Blusens Avintia’s Maverick Viñales set the fourth fastest time, ahead of RW Racing GP’s Luis Salom, AirAsia-SIC-Ajo’s Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Team Italia FMI’s Romano Fenati, promising a mouth-watering race. There was one crasher in the form of Ambrogio Next Racing’s Giulian Pedone.
