Öttl confirmed for TT Motion Events Racing in 2013

German rider Philipp Öttl has been confirmed as the new rider for the TT Motion Events Racing team in the 2013 Moto3™ world championship.

The 16-year-old German rider will be taking his first step up into full-time GP racing, after having finished fourth in this year’s Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and currently lying seventh in the Spanish CEV Buckler Championship in seventh. Öttl has already shown he is a winner, after taking a win in Jerez in the first CEV race this season, and winning Race 2 of the Silverstone round of the Rookies Cup. He will be riding a Kalex-KTM machine with TT Motion Events, which is the same bike he is contesting the CEV on.

Philipp Öttl

"I am very pleased that I have been given the chance from TT Motion Events and Terrell Thien to move into the Moto3 World Championship. There I will have a professional environment and all possibilities to establish myself in the World Cup. With Kalex-KTM I have a competitive bike and excellent support. I am thankful that I will enter the World Cup under such conditions."

Terrell Thien, Team Manager

"I am delighted that Philipp has decided on his near future with the TT Motion Events Racing Team. I have watched him the last couple of months closely. He is a young rider with great potential, so I'm really looking forward to contest the championship with him over the coming years. I'm confident that his experience in the Spanish Championship can contribute positively on the Kalex KTM."
