Florian Alt will miss next weekend’s Gran Premio d’Italia TIM, it has been confirmed by his Kiefer Racing team. Having crashed at Le Mans, the 17-year-old has sustained a fracture to his right forearm.
The break was identified next to Alt’s right wrist and, as he does not wish to risk worsening the injury (which has been stabilised with a plate), he prefers not to rush back for the Italian event.
“I noticed after the race that something was wrong,” Alt explains. “It was swelling up and the doctors in the paddock rapidly diagnosed a hairline fracture. To be on the safe side, I also checked it with my own doctor at home and he confirmed it. It’s a pity because I would have liked to ride at Mugello, as that is one of the tracks I already know from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup last year.”
Alt will return to the Moto3™ field for the Barcelona race on 16th June.
