More wildcard appearances set for Bauer

More wildcard appearances set for Bauer

Remus Racing Team is set for a comeback to the MotoGP™ World Championship. Following his debut at Brno, Austria’s Martin Bauer will return in Valencia before likely making a handful of wildcard appearances during the 2014 season.

Bauer will be present at the Valencia finale of this season, including the post-race test, and the Grand Prix Commission has also granted five wildcard outings for 2014 at the races of The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, San Marino and one of the Spain-based events.

"I am very pleased with the development because this acceptance shows that we did the right thing on our debut," Bauer comments.

"We are being taken seriously. It's also nice that, once again, we can showcase our performance in Valencia. The MotoGP™ finale gives us the opportunity to correct our mistakes after falling in the first round (at Brno), which was a very decisive and upsetting moment."

Team Manager Andreas Bronnen emphasizes that they were no doubts when it came to selecting which rider would be part of the team.

"We now get to prove that, with a small team, such a project and vision is possible as well as being sustainable," Bronnen begins. "The contract with Martin Bauer to be the rider in Valencia is signed and we are already negotiating with him for the 2014 season. He is our first choice and continues to remain so, as has been demonstrated recently by a guest appearance in the International German Superbike class; he won both races on the first attempt."

At the Czech Grand Prix on 25th August, Remus made MotoGP™ history by becoming the first ever Austrian-entered team to compete in the premier class.
