Although no firm decision has been made as of yet, Gigi Dall’Igna – the new General Manager of Ducati Corse – admits that the new Open regulations would appear to favour Ducati Team for the 2014 MotoGP™ season.
“We have been looking into it because the intention of MotoGP™ organiser Dorna Sports is that Open is the future,” Dall’Igna explains to Italy’s Moto.it.
“It is essential to start working on this programme. We had decided already back in Valencia (in November) to run three ‘Factory’ and one ‘Open’ bike this year. It is true, however, that the Factory rules are a bit restrictive for us because for Ducati it is essential to be able to develop the bike and find solutions for the current one.
“In the remaining weeks ahead of the next test (at Sepang in late February), we will do our analysis and then make our choice.”
