Iannone shines as top Ducati rider on Friday

There are no points awarded for riders’ positions in Free Practice but Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone will nonetheless be pleased to have been the fastest Ducati representative at Losail on Friday.

The Italian rider, starting his second season in the premier class, was second quickest in FP3 and outpaced the Factory riders with a 1’55.186s best lap.

Though Iannone knows the Factory men were not in Qatar for testing two weeks ago and are playing catch up in terms of data, he will still be determined to stay ahead in FP4 and especially Q2 on Saturday night.

Reflecting on a good day at the office he commented, “I'm very happy with how it went today, I never expected it to go so well. Surely it is also thanks to all the guys who worked at home this winter I am happy that I was able to take advantage of almost one hundred percent of my bikes potential. We still have to continue working to improve some small things on the bike to make sure that I am able to ride better for the race.”

“I thank the whole team for the work done so far and I want to thank again Ducati for all the support they give me.”
