Kent arrives at home round feeling good

Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo rider Danny Kent is feeling confident heading into the Hertz British Grand Prix, after taking his first podium of the year and Husqvarna’s first in Moto3™.

The Silverstone circuit, the longest in the World Championship at 5.9km, is a favourite of the British rider, who will be chasing another podium in front of his home fans. This will be the fifth time that the Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo rider participates in a World Championship round at the Silverstone track where he debuted in Grand Prix racing in 2010. His best finish to date there is sixth in Moto3 in 2012.

Kent’s rostrum finish at Brno was the first podium finish for Husqvarna in 42 years, since Bo Granath took third place in the 500c races in Austria and Sweden back in 1972.

Kent commented, “I don’t think we could be in better shape for my home round, after my first podium of the season, but we cannot relax and we must work to achieve more. We had a great race at Brno and I hope to repeat it at Silverstone. We have demonstrated that we can be on the podium. In Argentina we qualified on the front row and at Brno we took a first podium, so now we need to keep this up, trying to win races or placing on the rostrum. The Silverstone track is one that I really like. I’m looking forward to racing in front of the fans.”
