How Rabat could take the Moto2™ title in Australia

How Rabat could take the Moto2™ title in Australia

At the Tissot Australian Grand Prix on Sunday Tito Rabat could become the 2014 Moto2™ World Champion, with the Spaniard having qualified on pole on Saturday.

Following Rabat’s third place finish in Japan, he now has a 38-point lead over his Marc VDS Racing Team colleague and closest challenger Mika Kallio and could win the title with two races to spare.

Rabat needs to increase his lead in the standings by at least 12 points to clinch the Moto2™ title and the following scenarios would make Rabat a World Champion:

- Rabat wins the race and Kallio does not finish on the podium

- Rabat is second and Kallio finishes eighth or lower

- Rabat is third and Kallio finishes 12th or lower

- If Rabat is fourth and Kallio finishes 15th or lower
