Strong ride to fourth for Bradl

Stefan Bradl earned a solid result at the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, crossing the line in fourth behind Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.

A huge crowd of more than 80,000 fans enjoyed the penultimate round of the season in hot conditions at the Sepang circuit, with LCR Honda MotoGP rider Bradl returning to the top five at a track where he missed the race last year.

Indeed Bradl was amongst the spectators at last season’s Sepang race with an ankle injury, but this time around he was a key protagonist,

Starting from fourth on the grid, Bradl successfully managed his way through a tough 20-lap race, showing competitive pace after a difficult recent period.

He commented, “After the first hard braking in the race I could feel that my front was not good enough to attack and I thought I had to manage this for 20 laps. I was trying to catch Dovi but for some reasons he was a little bit faster. I could then see he was struggling with his bike so I had my chance to pass him and I was able to manage the gap to the guys behind me.”

“I’m really happy with the fourth place because everyone in our team deserves it. It started well, I did a good job throughout the weekend, I’ve been up there all the time, with good pace and I didn’t make any mistake. Finally I’m pleased with fourth because we’ve been suffering for a long period without good results. So to be back in fourth position is really important for us.”
