It’s always a privilege to be able to fight for a victory next to Valentino, and this time he won the battle…
In his official blog for repsol.com the reigning MotoGP™ World Champion Marc Marquez gives his account of the #ArgentinaGP:
We’re back at the Argentine Grand Prix and that means that the next race will be at home, in Jerez. You don’t know how eager I am to get there already!
Anyway, you’ve got to go little by little, there’s still time left for that. It was a shame how this last race finished, but I can also tell you that I learned a lot this weekend.
It’s always a privilege to be able to fight for a victory next to Valentino, and this time he won the battle. He’s a great champ, and the experience that he has no one else does, so you can always learn things from his race strategy.
I just have to congratulate him and hope that in Jerez we are able to put up a good fight…
After the race there were already people asking me about my choice of tires. The truth is that with the extra hard tire it was going to reduce our chance of winning. It was clear to us that our possibilities increased by taking the risk with the hard tire.
That’s why I went so fast right from the beginning of the race and, when I was already three or four seconds ahead, I kept giving it my all. There were only two or three laps left, what a shame!
But not to worry. We have to learn from these types of races, there’s always a positive lesson to be learned. And now, it’s time to focus on Jerez.
Question of the week:
Firstly congratulations for everything you’ve achieved until now. While you were in lower categories your dream was to get to the MotoGP, when you got there your dream was to win the title, now that you’re a two time champion… what is your current dream? (That is if you have any left to achieve hahaha…)(Tania)
Hey Tania, thanks a lot! I currently have a dream that I want to achieve, and that is winning my third title with the Repsol Honda Team. We’ve already seen, for how the beginning of the season has gone, that what awaits us is a very demanding and exciting World Championship, with many riders and teams at a high level, and it’s not going to be easy.
That makes it a big challenge, and that is my big objective right now, on which I am focused 100%. I hope that in a few months I can tell you that we’ve done it!
Speak to you all next week,
