The CEO of Dorna Sports received his star on the Jerez Walk of Fame in recognition for his work in the World Championship since 1991.

The CEO of Dorna Sports, Carmelo Ezpeleta, was presented with a star on the Jerez Walk of Fame on Sunday, in recognition of his career. He joins a number of illustrious names from the world of motorcycle racing to be honoured in this way along the Avenida Alvaro Domecq.

The Mayor, Jose Maria Garcia-Pelayo, emphasised the impact Ezpeleta had made on the sport in his speech: “The hard work and vision of Ezpeleta have been key to the growth and development of the World Championship. With this plaque we aim to recognise these achievements, his contribution to Jerez as a circuit and to motorcycle racing in general.”

The award humbled the CEO of Dorna Sports: “It is a tremendous honour to be here to accept this star on behalf of the large family that is Dorna Sports. Every year the Jerez Grand Prix is bigger and better organised, everyone form the area should be proud of it.”

Ezpeleta signed his name and added the message: “Wine and motorbikes usually do not mix, except in Jerez.”

Giacomo Agostini and Angel Nieto were the first legends from the world of motorcycling to be honoured on the Walk of Fame, Carlos Checa, Jorge Martinez “Aspar”, the FIM (for their work in developing the Spanish GP), Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, Francisco Pacheco and Antonio Sanchez Garrido Peluqui.
