Rins on pole for Moto2™ clash

Rins on pole for Moto2™ clash

Páginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Álex Rins will start from pole in the Le Mans Moto2 race, after a close battle with Lowes.

It doesn’t get any closer than this, as Rins and Brit Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) recorded the same lap time: 1:37.114. In this case, the 2nd fastest lap of each rider is taken into account as the deciding factor and Rins won out.

Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) will join Rins & Lowes on the front row. The French rider was just 0.108 sec off the pace set by the two tied front runners.

Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) will start the race from 4th position on the grid, with Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) and Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) in 5th and 6th respectively.

Luis Salom (Páginas Amarillas HP 40) placed 7th on the grid, followed by Xavier Simeón (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Julián Simón (QMMF Racing Team) in 8th & 9th. Randy Krummenacher (JIR Moto2) completes the top 10.

The Moto2 action continues on May 17 at 09:10 local time with the warm up session, with the race due to start at 12:20.
