Moto3™ Catalan GP race guide

Moto3™ Catalan GP race guide

All of the essential stats and information any fan needs to know ahead of the Moto3™ race at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

The Moto3™ race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya consists of 22 laps around the 4.7km circuit, and is due to start at 11:00am local time:

  • For the first time since the Moto3 class was introduced in 2012, all the riders on the front row of the grid are Honda mounted.

  • Enea Bastianini is on pole for the first time in his GP career; his only other front row start was at Catalunya last year when he went on to finish on the podium for the first time, in second place.

  • Danny Kent is on the front row for the fifth time in 2015. Kent is aiming to become the first British rider to take four or more GP wins in a single season since Barry Sheene took six 500cc GP wins in 1977.

  • Jorge Navarro, who is on the front row for the second time this year, finished seventh two weeks ago at Mugello - his best result so far in grand prix racing.

  • Heading the second row of the grid is Niccolo Antonelli, who will be aiming to take his first grand prix podium finish.

  • Miguel Oliveira has qualified in fifth place on the grid. Oliveira, the winner of the Moto3 race in Italy two weeks ago, has never managed to finish on the podium in back-to-back races.

  • Starting from the final place on the second row is third place finisher in Catalunya last year, Efren Vazquez, who has crashed out of the last two Moto3 races.
