Marquez: “This was an important test for me”

Alex Marquez feels he made a breakthrough in understanding his bike’s setup at a two day private test in Aragon with his team.

For Marquez the main focus of the Aragon test was evaluating different suspension settings and chassis geometry options, something he’s had little opportunity to do during the limited track time available on race weekends. The reigning Moto3 World Champion declared himself happy with his progress during the test and he now heads to Assen more confident in his ability to quickly find a workable set up during race weekends.

Alex Marquez:
“It was a little bit windy both days, and hot on the second day, but my lap times were good and I think we made good progress during the two days here at Aragon. We tried a lot of things on the bike, making changes mainly to the suspension settings and chassis geometry. I’m happy because there were a lot of positive points and my understanding of how changes affect the bike on track is much greater now. This will be important in the races to come, starting next week with Assen, because it should shorten the time needed to find a workable set up. This was an important test for me and I’m happy with what we’ve achieved.”
