Cortese: “It was a lot of bad luck”

Build up for the German GP already underway for Cortese as he hungers for points at home.

The German GP begins long before Friday’s FP1 session for home riders such as Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP), already participating in a multitude of pre-event activities. Cortese is determined to stay focused and return to the points, having been unable to score in the last two rounds. Moto2™ has not been easy for Cortese, the German able to occasionally shown flashes of brilliance amongst a sea of bad luck.

Cortese plans to approach his home round with a ‘nothing to lose’ mentality as he currently sits 14th in the standings. Previous years in Moto2™ have seen Cortese score a 14th place finish and crash out. However, he has claimed two podiums in the lower classes in front of his home crowd including a win in 2013. A strong result in front of adoring home fans could be what Cortese needs to have a strong finish to his 2015 campaign.

Sandro Cortese: “"It's nice to finally ride at home, unfortunately only once a year. Of course, the last two races were disappointing. It was a lot of bad luck. For me, everything can only get better. I enjoy every minute and the atmosphere at the Sachsenring. It is always something special to race in front of the German crowd. We need to get through the race finally. We are far back in the overall classification. But in the end we have nothing to lose. I try in any case to show a great race and to give my best for the fans."
