A guide to the #GermanGP Moto2™ race

All of the information you need to know to impress your friends ahead of the GoPro Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.

  • Johann Zarco starts from pole for the third successive race. He has won from pole at the last two races and if he wins in Germany he will become the first rider to win three successive Moto2 races from pole position.

  • In second place on the grid is Xavier Simeon – his first front row start since he was on pole in Austin.

  • Franco Morbidelli is in third place on the grid, which equals his best ever grand prix qualifying result which he had at the final race of 2014 at Valencia.

  • Heading the second row is Tom Luthi, who will be aiming to finish on the podium at the Sachsenring for the first time since he was second in the 125cc race in 2005.

  • Simone Corsi, who has qualified in fifth place on the grid, finished third in Germany last year, which is the last time that he stood on the podium.

  • Tito Rabat is in sixth place on the grid – his worst qualifying result since he was the sixth fastest qualifier at Jerez last year.

  • The highest placed rider in qualifying not on a Kalex is Speed Up rider Sam Lowes in ninth place on the grid – the first time this year that he has not been on either of the first two rows.

The Moto2™ race at the Sachsenring circuit is due to start at 12:20 local time.
