Iannone: “I hope I can be quick right away”

Andrea Iannone is looking to hit the ground running at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix after a private test during the summer break.

The Ducati Team tested at Misano, and despite still suffering from his shoulder injury sustained at a previous test at Mugello, Iannone is hoping that they will have done enough to allow him to fight for the race win in Indianapolis. The Italian, who is currently third in the MotoGP™ World Championship standings with 118 points, has never finished on the podium at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the premier class before and scored a DNF last year, with his best result an 11th place in 2013. This year though, Iannone has not finished outside of the top six, and he is feeling positive about taking on the track with the GP15.

Andrea Iannone: “The Indianapolis track is an interesting one, and last year I went quite well. Unfortunately in the race we had a few too many problems, but our overall performance wasn’t bad. This year I think I can do a good race with the GP15: I am always positive and this year I have more reasons to be so, in particular because I am third in the championship. I hope I can be quick right away and get closer to our opponents than in the previous races.”
