Despite fracturing his wrist less than a fortnight ago, Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) is poised to compete in the upcoming Liqui Moly Motorrad Deutschland Grand Prix. The Suzuki star suffered the injury as a result of a fall at the first corner of the Catalan GP.

Rins was diagnosed with a fracture to his pyramidal (triquetral) bone and ankle trauma, but after visiting Dr Xavier Mir in Barcelona on Wednesday morning, the Spaniard decided to travel to Germany with the expectation he will be fit enough to race.
"Alex Rins came to visit me on Wednesday morning before travelling to Germany to evaluate the shape of his wrist, we carried out some tests and it seems that the fracture is doing fine, but it’s not healed yet. It hasn't moved and is settling down. Alex wants to try to ride, but maybe he will need some painkillers and physiotherapy during these days," said Dr Mir.
Rins will still have to undergo medical check ups at the circuit, with the final decision coming down to Dr Angel Charte and the medical team at the Sachsenring. Final confirmation should come on Thursday afternoon.
Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Castrol) was also caught up in the Catalan GP crash and had a spell in hospital, but he too aims to race in Germany.
