Kent: “We were working hard on our race pace”

Kent: “We were working hard on our race pace”

Day one at the bwin Grand Prix České republiky has Britain’s Danny Kent on top and full of confidence once again.

A race without points at the Indianapolis GP is having no lasting effects on Danny Kent (Leopard Racing), who immediately returned to form in Brno. A time of 2’08.483 saw Kent top the Moto3™ session, cutting 0.4s from his FP1 time. Strong winds in the Brno hills caused some stability issues in certain corners, but the Brit remains confident ahead of Qualifying on Saturday.

Uncharacteristically hot weather has hit the Brno area with track temperatures peaking at over 44°C. Race conditions may be drastically different for the Moto3™ race on Sunday due to the difference in time between practice and the start of the race. Some weather reports also suggest that rain may grace the track in the next two days, no doubt Kent will be hoping to avoid an Indy repeat.

Danny Kent: “Obviously it was another good day for us to start the weekend that strong. The feeling with the bike is ok even the wind was quite strong today, which of course has brought a few problems in some corners as it was pushing the bike a bit wide. But in general I’ happy to finish day one as fastest rider, we were working hard on our race pace as well, so we know already that we’ll be strong enough on Sunday.”
