Lowes: “I was not happy to crash!”

Sam Lowes couldn’t hide his frustration at crashing, but was otherwise pleased with his efforts on day one of the Czech GP.

Speed Up Racing’s Lowes ended the day seventh on the overall timesheets, having recorded a 2’03.373 in FP2, just 0.659s off the pace of Tito Rabat. Lowes crashed out towards the end of the session at turn 11, but was unhurt. After the British rider spent Friday working on race pace, he is confident they can improve their position for Qualifying tomorrow.

Sam Lowes: “It was a very solid day for us working towards the race! We could of been a lot closer if we had used a new tyre at end but we chose to do longer runs and did our best lap near the end of one. I was not happy to crash, but I am happy with how day one has gone and we have good plan for tomorrow.”
