Lowes: “I struggled for feeling in the mixed conditions”

Sam Lowes was frustrated not to be able to produce a podium in front of his home fans at the Octo British Grand Prix.

Lowes had sent the home fans into rapture on Saturday at Silverstone when he secured pole position at his home grand prix. Unfortunately, the heavens opened on Sunday morning and the Moto2™ race was declared wet. The British rider struggled with the feeling on his Speed Up machine in the tricky conditions, but fought valiantly to cross the line in sixth, 28 seconds behind the eventual winner Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport).

Sam Lowes: “Gutted with the race day at Silverstone as it promised so much and we worked so hard all weekend. The fans were amazing all weekend and I wish I could of repaid them with a win or podium! But I struggled for feeling in the mixed conditions and couldn't do any more in the race. Thanks so much for all the support it means a lot! We will take the positives and come back stronger in Misano.”
