Marquez Blog: A clear objective

Marquez Blog: A clear objective

I must say that I’m really excited to be going to Misano and to be doing so with a clear goal….

In his latest official blog for Marc Marquez looks ahead to the San Marino GP:

Hi everyone!

You’ve caught me just as I’m about to head to Austria. We’ve got an event with a sponsor, so we’ll be there both today and tomorrow before flying to San Marino.

We’ve had a few quiet days, which is welcome after a hectic August. Now we’re back to the normal race routine, with a bit more time between races.

So we’ve had time for everything: staying at home, resting up, training, and above all, concentrating on what’s coming up: Misano.

I must say that I’m really excited to be going to Misano and to be doing so with a clear goal. Last year I had a difficult race so I’m really looking forward to getting a good result this year and forgetting about what happened last year.

We tested in San Marino after the German GP, so now we need to find a way to make the most of that information. And, as you already know, we’ve set a target for the rest of the year and that objective is to win all the races we can. On those circuits where we feel competitive, you can be sure that we’ll give 110% in our fight for the victory.

Plus, extra motivation will come from our fan club that will also be in Misano. They’ll be in Prato, to be exact, and seeing them there (just like seeing my brother Alex’s fan club) is always a boost that encourages us to do our best.

I would like to congratulate Toni Bou, our colleague on the Repsol Team, and now, nine-time World Outdoor Trial Champion! What a legend, he’s out of this world. Toni, you keep making history!

This weekend we received the sad news about the A Coruña Rally. I want to send all my thoughts and condolences to the family and friends of those who passed away.

Question of the week

What is it like having the support of a brand like Repsol in your sporting career? Question from isabergondo

Hi Isabergondo,

From a young age I’ve had the honour of being supported by the most important brand in the world of Spanish motorcycling. It’s a privilege that gives me great pride. As a child, I looked up to the great riders in the Queen Category (from Doohan to Dani), and of course I dreamed that, when I was older, I’d be able to put on the same motorcycle gear as them. Even though there isn’t always time to stop and think about it, I truly am living a dream come true. That’s why I realize that having the most important brand supporting me is an enormous privilege.

Best wishes,
