Marquez Blog: We keep learning

I would like to emphasize that the fall I had during the second lap was my own mistake…

In his latest official blog for Marc Marquez reflects on the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon where he crashed out of the race on the second lap:

Hi everyone!

It was such a shame that I couldn’t finish such a special weekend with a good result! I love coming to Motorland by car and that all the families and fans out there come to show their support, so it was a shame that I wasn’t able to return the favour.

The important thing is that we continue to learn in every GP and this was a good experience for the future.

We arrived on Wednesday and that night I was able to have dinner with the team and my brother. It’s great to be able to share times like these. These moments help you to get over other, more complicated stages of the season with a good attitude. It’s a group in which we always help one another.

The truth is that there were a lot of good vibes during the whole Grand Prix. I would like to take this time to thank all the people in the team for their effort and for making sure that the motorbike was in very good condition. On Saturday, I felt strong during qualifying and I gave it my all to achieve pole position – increasing my confidence for the race.

Sunday was a completely different story. I would like to emphasize that the fall I had during the second lap was my own mistake. The team was perfect and it was a real shame not to be able to continue. I could’ve been ahead of the pack.

When something like this happens to you, you realize the importance that this has on all your fans you out there who love and support you. Take a look at the photo that was taken of me as I left the press conference on Sunday. You guys really are the best and are always supporting me.

I would like to congratulate Dani for his great race and wish him a happy birthday! Enjoy your day! Yesterday we had a test so that today we can rest up a little. Not a lot though because this coming Monday we’re off to Japan. To make sure we get to the Asian tour in good condition we have to make the most of these training days.

Question of the week

Hey Marc! When you got to MotoGP they had already changed category (500-MotoGP). If you had the chance to travel back a few years and race during that time, who would you choose as your biggest rival and which motorbike would you choose to race? Montse Martinez

Hi Montse,

I’ve seen the 500cc races multiple times…and I always remember the finales that Doohan and Crivillé had, they were amazing. If I could time travel, I would bring the Repsol Honda NSR500 with me seeing as though they’ve been part of those tense finals with Mick and Álex.

Best wishes,

MotoGP, 2015, GRAN PREMIO MOVISTAR DE ARAGÓN, Marc Marquez, Repsol Honda Team
