Navarro: “We continue taking steps forward”

Navarro: “We continue taking steps forward”

For the third time in his fledgling Moto3™ career, Jorge Navarro finished on the podium with third.

It was a thrilling Moto3™ World Championship round at the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix as a large and hard battle covered the entirety of the race. Jorge Navarro was in the midst of it all from the beginning after a solid start. The Moto3™ rookie took his turn of leading the race but the slipstream proved a powerful tool and he was overcome again and again, settling into the pack and waiting for the final laps.

As the Red Bull KTM Ajo duo of Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira controlled the race at the front in the closing corners, Navarro tried as hard as he could to get past but this proved impossible. With Binder and Oliveira working together Navarro was forced to settle for third, ending the flyaway period as he begun; on the podium. After a few crashes at the start of the season the Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider has become a top rider in the lightweight class, always a threat in both the race and Qualfiying. It’s back to Europe and back to Spain for the final round in Valencia and Navarro is aiming to end the season on a high in front of his home fans.

Jorge Navarro: “I am very happy with the race I've done and the work of the whole team throughout the weekend; The pity is that I have not won from Miguel [Oliveira] and Brad [Binder]. It was a very difficult race, a bit chaotic, because there have been many riders in the first group from the beginning. I've been able to manage the different stages well and have reached the final laps with the tyres in good condition. We continue taking steps forward, as in the last races, and once again we have come to Sunday prepared to fight for victory. I am very pleased with the progress that we've done, with the transoceanic tour I've done, and we'll go to Valencia circuit –my home-track– where I hope to make a great career in front of my fans."
