Barbera: “I'm happy to have finished third”

Hector Barbera pulls off another stunning result on the second day of the Sepang test by finishing in third on his Ducati GP14.2.

Barbera set his best time on the soft tyre in the morning, before his teammate Baz’s accident which saw the soft compound tyre withdrawn from action. The Spaniard did not return to the track until the late in the afternoon, eventually completing 32 laps and setting a 2’00.387 which was good enough for third, which saw him less than three-tenths off the pace of Petrucci and continued his excellent work from Monday when he was sixth fastest.

Wednesday marks the final day of the Sepang test, with the action kicking off at 10am local time.

Hector Barbera: “It's been a positive day and I'm happy to have finished third. We have greatly improved our time from yesterday, by more than 1.7 seconds, so I think we've done a good job. After the problem with Loris’ tyre, we had to go with a harder compound and I had to practically stop for the rest of the day, because yesterday we worked hard to get the bike ready for the soft tire and we had to change everything. In the end I went out again in the last two hours, but it took me a little longer to pick up the pace. The feeling was very good and I feel strong on the bike. Everything is going well, although I know that this position is not very real, but it is also clear to me that here nobody gives you anything.”
