Marquez launches comic about his life

Marc Marquez has unveiled the new comic book about his life, aimed at inspiring the next generation to follow in his footsteps.

Marc Marquez and more than 200 children participated in the presentation of the official comic about the Repsol Honda rider’s life. 'Marc Marquez: The Story of a Dream’  tells the story of Marquez, from the day he was given his first petrol-powered bike for Christmas aged four, to his winning of his first MotoGP™ title. The book focuses on some lesser-known stories about the rider, such as those from his childhood and early years of competition before reaching the World Championship. It includes many anecdotes –a great number of which have been previously unpublished- and the most influential chapters of his life on and off the track.

In the comic, designed for all ages, the human values of the rider instilled by his family and surroundings since he was a child are explained. Repsol and Marc Marquez have shared a close relationship for nearly ten years -beginning even before his debut in the World Championship in 2008- in which effort, sacrifice, humility, innovation, the spirit of excellence and teamwork have been mainstays.

Marc Marquez: “The comic is focused more on my childhood and this is where the foundation of any project starts. During your childhood you take your first steps and in my case I found motorcycling. Thanks to my family I could achieve my dream, which was to be World Champion. I am very happy and all I hope is that some guy or girl can be inspired by the comic.

“There are four or five moments that mark the career of a rider, especially in the beginning, and those are reflected in the comic. But not just the moments of now that everyone already knows. There are also moments of my childhood and stories that reflect the personality I had from when I was small, something that is a little more unknown.”
